How are we all, hope you all thoroughly enjoyed the bank holiday weekend!
Despite being in my twenties, the ‘Easter Bunny’ (my mum) spoilt me with a few chocolate treats. I love nothing more than a bit of guilt free chocolate. I’ve also dusted my dancing heels off for a few nights out catching up with old friends – wearing Lipstick, of course! X
If you were out over the Easter weekend , wearing your Lipstick number tweet us a pic @Lipstick_UK and we will RT our faves!
Look of the Week
My look this week is the ‘Olivia’ dress from the Jessica Wright collection.
Coral is usually a colour associated with a tan but, this colour looks great on all skin tones even pasty ones like mine.
With Easter this weekend, I feel now is the time to give the summer wardrobe a trial run. This dress also comes in Navy, but the coral is best for the WOW factor.
The cut of the dress hides knobbly knees and the lace sexes the dress up – in more of a classy Kate Middleton style than Kat Slater.
The trick to pulling this dress off is keeping shoes and bag simple, like Jess has done in this picture.
Wear with a nude -court or peep toe shoe, and a nude bag to ensure all eyes are on the dress and not distracted. Keep jewellery simple and understated, and make up wise I would do a smokey eye with a shimmer gloss.
Use my ‘Big Hair’ tips from my previous blog, and people will think Cheryl Cole has arrived!
I am guilty of one beauty related problem. I am a self-confessed perfume hoarder!
The problem is…I have expensive taste and beer money because I spend far too much on pretty dresses. My high end favourites include ‘Lola’ by Marc Jacobs, ‘Mademoiselle’ by Chanel and ‘Alien’ by Thierry Mugler but I usually have to pray I’ll get them for Birthdays and Christmas or by a rich admirer (I can wish).
It’s really hard to find good, purse friendly alternatives that don’t smell like cat urine. These are my top three and I’ve trialled them on nights out and each time I have worn them, people have commented on how divine they smell.

In the words of Lucy Spraggan the weekend left me with ‘Beer Fear’.
I ended up in a few bars after a cosy Italian meal with a friend and somehow I thought it would be a great idea to go to a club. It’s the type of place that you end up, in a drunken haze and convince yourself you will have a great time, but in reality would make you projectile vomit.
I’m sure all of you girls can sympathise about that feeling you get when you bump into an ex-boyfriend. Fear and nauseous washed over me, and my first thought was to head straight to the bar and get mortal. Despite my attempts to hide in the club, we eventually ran into each other and before you know it start talking about the old times and part of me really thought that maybe he was being genuine, and maybe he had changed and had grown up.
I popped to the ladies to freshen up and came back to discover he’d disappeared. Strange I thought, after everything he had said. I put it to the back of my mind and headed to the dance floor.
Drink in hand I strutted my best Beyoncé moves, and jokingly spun round to Crazy in Love, to discover John* in the corner with some blonde. Part anger, and part Pinot Grigio made me march up to him, and throw my drink over him. Upset, humiliated and very drunk, I got fireman carried in true Geordie Shore style into the nearest taxi home by my friend.
So Lipstick ladies this is my advice to you. When you bump into an ex, don’t head to the bar and get drunk, stick to lemonade, and make sure you are wearing your best Lipstick dress to show them what they have lost, and ALWAYS listen to your best friend when she says ‘Don’t even go there.’
Ex’s should definitely stay in the past (unless they are Ryan Gosling). My experience this weekend has made me learn that the hard way!
Track of the Week
I can 100% guarantee that Rudimental’s next single ‘Waiting all Night’ will be your new night out anthem. Listen to it as loud as you can, and rave like nobody is watching!!
