So it’s official, award season is underway and we are excited to get you started with our picks of the best dressed from the red carpet at this years golden globes. You can get all these looks at http://www.lipstickboutique.co.uk .
One of our favourite looks was from Saoirse Rowan in a stunning, grecian goddess like dress. You can get the look with our Georgia Dress from SistaGlam Collection.
Another one of favourites was Olivia Wilde in a gorgeous burgundy, figure-hugging dress. We think our Sushita Dress from Jessica Wright is a great accessible look that gives you Olivia’s edgy but sophisticated vibe.
We absolutely loved this super glam look from Jenna Dewan. A great accessible alternative to get this sexy but elegant look is with our amazing Amy Dress from SistaGlam.
It was great to see the fabulous Lady Gaga pick up an award this year. We loved her slightly gothic look showing off all of those amazing curves. You can get this look with our Opal Dress from Jessica Wright.
Julianne Moore looked simply stunning in her midnight blue, sequin dress. We’ve got the look with the Fran Dress from Jessica Wright.
We were so excited to see one our favourite British actresses picking up another Golden Globe this year. Kate Winslet look amazing in a deep blue, halter neck dress with a sexy split to show off those legs. You can have this look with our Zena Dress from SistaGlam.
Katie Perry was looking super sexy in a soft dusty pink. We think the Serena dress from Jessica Wright give you this look with it’s subtle sexy neck and pretty back straps in a very girly colour.
We correctly predicted that Jennifer Lawrence would go for a cut out dress with a bit of sparkle. If you want that red siren look we’ve got it with the Cherly Dress from SistaGlam.
Here at Lipstick Boutique there is a certain buzz in the air this week as we get ready to see what the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2016 will bring. One of our favourite red carpets’ to watch with its pure Hollywood, A Lister line up and some of the most important names in fashion, it’s always a treat for gorgeous couture looks. This year is set to be more glamorous than ever with names like Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Jane Fonda and Kate Winslet to name a few of the most stylish women in Hollywood.
We also can’t wait to see the UK’s very own Ricky Gervais back up on stage and presenting the awards this year. We are already wincing at his cutthroat comedy style.
Yes, we think this year is set to be the best yet. Being style and celebrity obsessed we couldn’t help but make our own predictions for what the biggest stars might be wearing this year. Take a look at our predictions and visit www.lipstickboutique.co.uk to get your very own celebrity style, red carpet worthy dress.
Stay tuned to this feed for the picks of our favourite red carpet looks on Sunday 10th January.
Kirsten Dunst is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Fargo. We think she will be wearing something classic with pretty detailing like our Laney Dress from the SistaGlam Collection.
Kate Winslet is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steve Jobs. We think she will be wearing something low cut and classy with a bit of sparkle like our Ruthie Dress from the SistaGlam Collection.
We can’t wait to see Jane Fonda on the Red Carpet this year; she’s nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Youth. We think she will go for a bold pretty colour and a classic cut like our Serena Dress from the Jessica Wright collection.
Our personal favourite actress Jennifer Lawrence is of course got herself a nomination for Best Comedy Actress in Joy. We think she will go for a sexy cut out dress with a sprinkling of diamonds like our Blake Dress from the SistaGlam Collection.
Finally, one of our favourite actresses from one of our favourite TV shows of 2015. Gina Rodriguez is nominated for Best Comedy Actress her role in, Jane the Virgin. We think she would look stunning in a cute little short number with sexy cut out detail, just like our Seline Prom Skirt from the Jessica Wright Collection.

Rosie Fortescue knows fashion and is known for fashion. The “Made in Chelsea” star’s blog “At Fashion Forte” has thousands of followers who take inspiration for their own wardrobe choices from Rosie’s quirky, edgy but eminently wearable style.
Rosie brings that particular style of hers to a new collection for Lipstick Boutique. This collection is truly reflective of Rosie’s innate sense of fashion and keen intuition in putting outfits together. By looking at each individual piece, you can immediately tell that she truly understands the girl she is designing for.
The Rosie Fortescue girl is bold, edgy and not afraid to be noticed. She is seductively feminine but would not be out of place playing billiards with the blokes at the local pub. She makes her clothes her own by adding cool accessories like floppy vintage hats and oversize handbags in unexpectedly bright colors. She has confidence and a joy for life and her clothes reflect that. One day she will wear a crisply tailored architectural dress, and the next day a flowing midi-skirt in a flower print. The Rosie girl delights and surprises in equal measure.
It is not by accident that all the pieces in the Rosie Fortescue collection are named after some of the most cosmopolitan and fashion-forward cities around the world. Amsterdam! Venice! Cannes! Aspen! These cities conjure up pictures of fabulously chic women impeccably dressed, sipping espresso at quaint street-side cafés, or enjoying après-ski drinks in front of roaring fire at some exquisitely elegant chalet.
And to help you start putting your own Rosie collection together, we are launching the “Everything’s coming up Rosie” sweepstakes. You could win an autograph photo of our brand ambassador as well as an exclusive dress from her collection. For details:
Dress the Way a Celeb Dresses.
Lipstick Boutique’s Definitive Guide to Dressing for YOUR Shape.
I have this fun pastime (obsession? compulsion?) I indulge in whenever I am somewhere people gather, be it a party, a restaurant, or the office. I call it the “great and secret clothes switch”. Here’s how it works: in my mind I gather all the women I see into a room. I line them up so I can examine them properly, and once I have a good feel for the situation, I make them all switch clothes with one another. No, I am not some kind of creepy voyeur; I just cannot stand it when a woman is dressed in an outfit that is totally wrong for her body.
It seems that even in this day and age of free-flowing information some women have just not got the memo regarding of dressing with their body type in mind. You don’t have to give up your comfort or your unique style. You simply must follow a few easy rules to make sure your outfit flatters your body and helps you to dress the way a celeb dresses.
How to properly dress your figure, simplified by Lipstick Boutique.
If you are pear-shaped:
• Wear a single dark color from head to toe to make you look slimmer.
• Try wearing an intricate or wide neckline (this Jess Wright dress nails it!), sleeveless or shoulder-baring shirts and tops with beautiful patterns or colors. These choices help to draw the eyes upward and away from your “problem” area.
• Avoid anything that is clingy and keep in mind that the optimum length of dresses and skirts is right at your knee.
• Low-rise trousers are your most flattering choice. However, pear-shaped girls must absolutely avoid trousers with side pockets which only emphasize the hips. Wide or boot cut trousers draw the eye away from larger hips.
If you have a narrow figure (no curves):
• Spaghetti straps and bare shoulders draw the eye upward.
• Babydoll type dresses with ruffles and details around the bust line are perfect for your figure.
• Waist-defining clothing and accessories such as belts and sashes work best for you by giving the illusion of curves.
• You can experiment with bright colors and patterns to give you more presence.
If you are short:
• Number one rule: stay away from cropped tops and t-shirts, any vertical break along your body will make you seem shorter. Try a slim fitting jumpsuit for a long, lean look.
• Stay away from voluminous or very floaty dresses and tops that can overwhelm your frame
• Skirts that hit above the knee or a little higher look great on petite women.
• Stick to straight leg (never boot cut or flared!) trousers.
• Wear pumps or flats with a deep vamp in a nude tone to elongate the leg. Never wear ankle straps!
If you are curvy:
• Wear clothes that fit properly. We cannot stress this enough! You may think oversized clothes are camouflage but they only add bulk and make you look larger.
• Look for tops and blouses that have detailed and intricate necklines to bring the eye to your face.
• Contrary to the old wives’ tale, you can wear patterns, as long as they match your body size. Vertical stripes are great as they make the eye look up and down.
• Monotone outfits elongate the body. Choose materials that have some give and stretch for a good fit.
• Find the smallest part of your waist (usually just below your bust) and accentuate this area with a belt. Or find a dress that creates the illusion of a cinched waist.
Now I’ve just now realised if all of you follow my advice, I will have to find myself a new pastime!
It’s autumn and the weather is turning colder. But, at Lipstick Boutique, fashion is getting hotter. This season is all about ultra-feminine style. Dresses that hug the body in all the right places in a subtle, classy way are very on trend, as are details such as bold floral prints, lace accents. While the above- knee dress length will never go out of style, this season we are seeing a longer length that lends a touch of elegance and sophistication to everyday clothes. This gorgeous piece from Jess Wright Dresses is the perfect example. Just add a dramatic necklace or sparkly cardi to this dress, and you can make a seamless transition from office to dinner to club.Another big trend for autumn 2014 is lace. We are not talking about your gran’s stiff, chalky-colored lace either. Today’s lace is a bold and modern choice. It comes in vibrant, sophisticated jewel-tones such as royal blue, magenta and coral and can encompass a whole dress, or a small, but standout, detail. For work, wear a lace dress with a smart jacket and flats; for nighttime, switch to a silk wrap and killer heels. This stunning frock from Amy Child Dresses hits the mark on the lace trend (notice also the below-the –knee length!)
For you: Feminine floral for all occasions.
Floral patterns are all the rage this autumn, bright and bold are most on-trend. Allover floral is perfectly acceptable but a striking floral combined with black will really get you noticed. To keep the floral trend from becoming too twee, the silhouette must be the perfect balance of sexy and sophisticated, just like the gorgeous dress below. One very important thing to remember when you are wearing a dress with either a standout print or dramatic lace is to keep your accessories to a minimum. Delicate earrings and one statement bangle, for example, are enough to finish your look without being overwhelming.
Whatever trend you chose to follow this autumn, remember to dress in a way that makes YOU happy. Trends are suggestions, not rules. Always take into consideration what you like and what you feel comfortable wearing. While styles and trends are important considerations, nothing beats a good overall fit when choosing a dress. And remember, wearing a big smile and walking with your head held high is ALWAYS in fashion.

Although I’m a beauty lover first and foremost, I also adore my fashion. Some of you may be aware I actually have my own clothing collection with Lipstick Boutique.
I’m particularly proud of my latest collection – there’s an array of pieces to suit different body shapes, styles and occasions, from glam gowns to more comfortable, casual pieces which are perfect for everyday wear.
I recently did a shoot to showcase the collection. I didn’t want to go too overboard with my make-up so as not to detract attention from the pieces themselves, so opted for a sleek graphic eye line paired with a summery pop of colour on the lips.
Ring O’ Roses
JULY 8, 2014 BY HOLLIE
The sun has officially arrived, all be it with a few showers in between but this means it’s summer dress season! Well, Lipstick Boutique have got in covered with their gorgeous summer pieces. I’ve had a chance to check out the Curvy Look Book and I have to say I am pretty impressed. Lots of bright colours, different textures and trendy cuts. You might have already seen Lipstick Boutique make an entrance on ASOS as a plus size brand and they have just started the curvy section on their website too.
Lipstick Boutique Curvy Range
One of the pieces from the Lipstick Boutique Curvy range is this lace insert summer dress. The curvy range is available in sizes 16 to 24 and in my opinion this dress was perfect fitting with a little space making it comfortable. When I first saw it, I have to say I though there is no way it was going to fit, it just looked too small. But, it was a perfect match and I was seriously impressed. It’s just SO PRETTY! I feel like I want to go and run around playing ring o’ roses in a field of flowers!
Plus Size Summer Dress
The quality of this dress is really nice with beautiful lace detail. I guess the dress is a perfect wedding outfit, summer party style dress that really has the pretty appeal. What I really liked, is the cut of the sleeves. Having an upper arm phobia of sorts, it isn’t very often that I get a short sleeved dress that makes me feel as though my arms are flattered or even fits my arms well. But this dress does both. The cotton, nylon and polyester mix has a little stretch but not much, it feels lovely against the skin and flares out from the waist.
Plus Size Wedding Guest Dress
The dress is lined, which is great because it’s a cream colour and it helps it from flying away with the wind. I would say it’s a little on the short side. I’m 5”5 and you can see where it comes up to on me. If a slightly shorter dress doesn’t work for you, you can pair it with natural tights or even leggings. If you want to keep it casual, I’ve even consider some ripped denim and hiking the dress up a bit to make it shorter. Always possibilities.
Based on this dress I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for more pretty pieces from the Lipstick Boutique Curvy range. It’s on my radar for sure!
Have you tried anything from Lipstick Boutique?
Finally it’s almost arrived to Lipstick Boutique. We’ve been excitedly awaiting the new collection from the Made in Chelsea sweetheart, Binky. We totally fell in love with her collection and we totally fell in love with her on the show. Some pieces from the new collection will be available to buy as early as tomorrow! With some fun and pretty summer prints but also some stunning evening wear. Binky told us this jumpsuit is her personal favourite from the collection…
We have to say that despite more rumours of heartbreak for Binky, she is looking absolutely stunning and enjoying taking centre stage. Binky is certainly showing that she is the ultimate Chelsea girl, looking more gorgeous and stunning than ever.
So what can you expect from this new collection you may be asking? Well the summer collection is going to feature lively and playful prints which will be perfect for your holiday wardrobe. However this wouldn’t be a Binky collection with out her chelsea girl inspired, sophisticated, evening wear. Perfect for a night on the town or a red carpet event.
All new Pieces from today’s photo shoot will be available to buy very soon at Lipstick Boutique, however you can shop current pieces from the Binky collection now! https://www.lipstickboutique.co.uk/c-binky_felstead-4139
We absolutely love to see what the red carpet has to offer in the way of fashion and last night was no disappointment. We love the way Victoria and David Beckham co-ordinate in Monochrome. A few of our other favorites Rhianna and Beyonce were also looking amazing last night. Rhianna is so on trend in her two piece outfit and Beyonce always knows how to rock the red carpet.
Another look that we thought was so hot last night was Emma Stone in a hot pink two piece. A beautiful summer look. Now the next look may be a bit of a love it or hate it situation but at Lipstick we love the dress worn by Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley! We think she looks amazing in this embellished, leather panel dress. And finally we are super impressed with Kim Karadashian’s sophisticated look last night. A absolutely stunning and sexy dress.
Our recommendations to get the look from the Jessica Wright. Firstly it is the New Effie dress in hot pink, a perfect sophisticated dress for the summer. The Carrie dress is the perfect red carpet look. Or go for a super summery look all in white with the Lilly dress.
There have been so many great new additions to the Jessica Wright collection lately. Everybody is saying this is the best collection from our favorite TOWIE star so far. Jessica Wright said her self that she really put everything in to producing this collection! The Lipstick Boutique design studio is becoming a second home for her! From stunning floral to classic lace dresses, there really is something for every summer occasion in this collection; Prom, wedding, family party, holiday, races, red carpet event or just a night on the town. These dresses are versatile and simply stunning. Here are our favorite 4 new in dresses from the beautiful Miss Jessica Wright.
